Kerzenserif

The exhibition presents three photographs of a 2025 ritual performance in Odsherred, Denmark, a beeswax candle installation and a preliminary version of new text by Ida Westh-Hansen. The work make use of site-specific action which examine the ritualization of landscape and the figure of the witch as a mediator between human and ecological systems. Grounded in a methodology of re-enchantment, the work posits the landscape as an active participant rather than a passive backdrop. By playfully invoking rituals, the exhibition examines contemporary society's distancing from the environments it inhabits. The exhibition functions as a material inquiry into the symbiotic relationship between form, folklore, and environmental awareness.
