Ritual performance / 2025 / By KOLLAGE
During the experience the performers were instructed to imagine their own body decaying, flesh rotting, and how their bones experience being in this world over a period of a thousand years. Afterwards a conversation about the experience was held amongst the performers.

Quotes from the debrief: I feel the open grave was more, like, inviting for me to adjust myself on it, and the size of it was closer to my body.  I feel for me here, it was as if I'm buried with 100 other bones. Like, then it's very being part of a collective. Which is very comforting. But, also somewhat very removed from my person.  Death is the permanent state you become or it's like forever. There's so many things that have been here forever. This has been here for five thousand years and it's not a scary place. So it's like, this is not that scary. It's cool.  There's somebody who's been lying here, for five thousand years, and I'm close to them.  Death is an open club. Everybody can become a member.  I just joined in here for a little while and I thought, oh, so many people have done it before you. It's so easy to make it. It's not, I don't think it's easy, but you could make the choice and just be there and become part of it.  It's not what you're supposed to. I also thought about that. It's an option.   Definitely. Death. It's always an option. Yeah. And also, like, so many people have done it before. And not survived. Thanks for being.
